"This was a cover for an album called "Fear" by Toad the Wet Sprocket. The title is based on a letter that the lead singer, Glen Phillips, wrote about his music - it was all about fears. I listened to the album and took different visual elements from each song: wings, ladders, the universe, butterflies. I had bought this old Spanish statue that didn't have any eyes. I wanted to express fear, and by putting these oversized safety pins on the eyes, it appeared as if she had these big, wide eyes that totally suggested fear."
