Rodney Smith Image of Grace

Rodney Smith's philosophy of landscape photography is, in many ways, reminiscent of one of his major influences and one-time teacher, Ansel Adams. Like Adams, Smith lets the mystique of his subjects reveal themselves by making his techniques almost invisible.

"I have this passion about everything being clear and sharp and resolved," he explains. "In the world we live in today everything is soft focus--it's like the technique has become more important than the eye."
