Welcome to the latest edition of Legends Online. PDN and Kodak Professional are proud to present a close-up look into the work of one of the world's most creative and free-thinking photographers: Eric Meola.

Equally at home in the most remote and exotic corners of the world as he is in his Manhattan studio, photographer Eric Meola has led two lives in photography. For more than two decades as a commercial shooter, he has created some of the world's most recognizable and striking advertising images. And as one of the world's foremost adventure photographers, he has brought his personal vision to some of the most far-flung locales on earth: Ethiopia, Niger, Papua New Guinea, Burma and Cambodia - sharing with the world places and events rarely witnessed by outsiders.

Legends Online uses Quicktime 4.0 for interviews with Eric Meola. Download Quicktime 4.0 for Windows or Macintosh.
Navigating this Legends Online website couldn't be simpler: Meola's work has been divided into three categories: Commercial, Personal and Last Places on Earth (his most recent and very ambitious self assignment). Each section begins with a thumbnail gallery: you can go directly to any of the images by clicking on the thumbnail, or you can progress through the site using the forward arrows.

To help you navigate through the recently updated Last Places section, we've broken the work up into three separate galleries. To see work from Southeast Asia, India, and Africa simply click directly on those sites on the Last Places map. For biographical information, click on bio..

Finally, if you have questions that you would like to ask the photographer directly, simply click on the Forum button and you can email your questions to him. Eric will be answering questions whenever time allows. And don't forget to check back at this site regularly for new photos and updates from Last Places.

This Legends site also contains numerous video clips of Eric Meola in an exclusive interview discussing his career and work; to view the clips using Quicktime 4.0, simply click on the Video Clip button.
