Video ClipThroughout his career Meola has created many images that have transcended the typical boundaries of an advertising shooter. In 1975, for example, he stepped away from color work to shoot a series of black-and-white portraits of Bruce Springsteen - one of which became the cover for the singer's Born to Run album:

"Somewhere in the early '70s, I got interested in Bruce Springsteen's music. I used to live around the corner from Max's Kansas City at the time and Bruce was doing a concert so I went and I couldn't believe it. I realized that I wanted to somehow get to know him, somehow start taking pictures of him."
