Perhaps the most recognizable of Meola's shots is this oddly humorous homage to American excess. "I was in California on assignment for a trucking company and one of the things that we photographed were these brand new storage garages," he recalls. The bold red, white and blue color scheme instantly created an American theme, he says.

"I got the idea of sticking a Cadillac in there because I knew it wouldn't fit and that in and of itself brought up this whole American idea of your eyes being bigger than your stomach. To me it's one of the most important shots I've ever done."
