The concept was to create an interactive demo reel directed at film producers and video graphic buyers. We wanted to exploit the fact that we come from a print design background and not from traditional video background, to say, We break the rules, because we don't know them. The idea of making moving design is an evolution, and somewhat a revolution, from our print experience. The packaging and interface try to help this idea along in a cerebral way.
Many of the movies included on the disc were done in Adobe After Effects/Premiere with Photoshop and Illustrator in the background. Any 3-D stuff was done in Infinity, Bryce or Poser. Most of the sound effects/music was done in-house in Digital Performer or Pro Tools. The machines involved are all G3 and G4 Macs with at least 500 megs of RAM and 19-inch monitors. Other unusual programs used are Studio Artist, Commotion, Videodellic, ArtMatic and Graphing Calculator. We use a Sony three-chip digital video camera, VX2000, for any custom shots and online stock shots when needed. The interactive interface was done in Flash 5 and Director 8.0. |
