The idea for the picture came from the client: how comfortable it is to use trains inside the country instead of flying, even the birds prefer it. The campaign for the Finnish Rail was done by the agency Kaisaniemen Dynamo with art director Henna Aapola.

The stuffed birds were placed on the roof of the train as seen and shot from a crane with a 4 x 5 Sinar on Kodak EPP. No birds had to be killed for the shot, because all the birds were found from the stuffer's freezer. After the shot, Bernie Vent from Lightbox London put the main image and some landscape images together and moved them with Dicomed Imaginator in our PC environment. We scanned the originals with our in-studio scanner Imacon Flextight II.
