I have loved the American desert ever since I can remember. I grew up in eastern Oregon, which is the high desert, but cold in the winter. I also love road trips. I like to have a loose destination, stay on back roads and stop at the slightest sign of photographic potential. This is a personal project that has evolved into a group of pictures quite interesting to me. The natural environments are not similar to any other places, and some of the human-created stuff is equally unusual. It is a grand, amazing place. My goal is to publish a book of this work. I used a Nikon camera and scanner, Fuji film, iMac computer, Photoshop and an Epson printer to make these images.
