Leaving Timbuktu, I joined a group of Tuaregs who led me into the desert in the afternoon heat. At sunset, a camel caravan walks through the Sahara dunes led by two Tuareg men. This shot was taken with a 70-300mm Zoom-Nikkor lens. I knew I had to work quickly to catch the fading light and I bracketed this shot to get the best possible exposure of the sky. Ultimately, I preferred the slightly underexposed shot because it intensified the color of the sky.
