In the village of Niongono on a rock outcropping in the north of the Dogon territory, I came upon a Koranic school where a group of young boys were clustered in groups reading. These wooden tablets are sections of the Koran which the Dogon boys are learning. This image was shot using a 20-35mm Zoom-Nikkor lens while I leaned over the seated group.
