In Bobo-Dioulasso, Burkina Faso, one of West Africa’s famous earthen mosques serves as a religious center. These mosques reminded me of a Star Wars-like scene and I wanted to capture the architectural structure as well as show one of the worshipers with his prayer beads. The photograph of the man holding the beads was taken in front of the mosque with a 20-35mm Zoom-Nikkor lens and the photograph of the detail of the top of the mosque was taken with an 80-200mm Zoom-Nikkor lens.
