eng Melea is still jungle-covered and its perimeter has only recently been cleared of land mines. After exploring the deserted ruins, hauling equipment over giant stones, scrambling through holes in the walls, climbing to the collapsed vine-covered roof, we came to the center of the complex. All that was needed was the human element for this photo to come together. Just then, a barefoot farmer emerged from the jungle on his way to his village, and stopped for a rest.
