he Intha fishermen of Inle Lake
are famous for their unique conical fish traps and oars which they row with their legs. The long narrow,
spring-fed lake, in the eastern Shan state in Myanmar, is lined with bamboo houses on stilts, fronted
by lush, floating vegetable gardens in the canals. Shooting into the sun is always tricky; even with
advanced matrix metering it is still hard to get the amount of silhouetting that you want. I took a
base reading from the scene, excluding the sun, underexposed the reading 3/4 to 1 1/4 stops, and then
shot the composed scene with the sun in the photo. No polarizer was used to reduce the possibility of
unwanted flare.
