louds swirl in the light of the full moon over the fantastic granite spire of Cerro Torre (3128 meters), which looms over the Torre Glacier. The view is from the moraines above Campo Agostini, a popular base camp for climbers who come from around the world to test themselves on Patagonian peaks. The clouds are at the front of one of the many storms which pick up force. Icy cold and with moisture, the clouds carreen over the Continental Icecap immediately to the west, and then slam with fury into the rocky barrier of the Southern Andes.
